Lexus has a reputation of producing refined luxury vehicles. Their vehicles are known for being powerful and plush with nearly silent engines. Lexus was launched by Toyota in 1989 and was the company’s goal to have a world class luxury car brand. The first models of Lexus were launched in 1989 and received favorable reviews. In the early 1990’s the brand was expanded to other markets, which included the UK, Canada and Australia and new cars were added to the lineup.
The Lexus brand was established in the early 1980’s by Toyota and soon the Lexus marquee became associated with quality, luxury and superior customer satisfaction. The Lexus brand has gone on to become America’s best selling line of luxury vehicles. Before introducing the Lexus, Toyota sent a team of researchers to the United States to conduct focus groups to determine what the American market was looking for in a luxury vehicle. In 1985 the first Lexus prototype was built.
In January of 1989 the Lexus models are unveiled at the Detroit and Los Angeles auto shows. The public responds well to this brand and Lexus gains a reputation for being a company that has high customer satisfaction. The Lexus vehicles were silent, economic, powerful, and reliable. The company became a fierce competitor for other European imports in the US auto market. The company’s slogan “pursuit of perfection” can be seen in all of its current vehicles. Not only is Lexus a bestselling vehicle in the US it is also sold in 50 countries and continues to grow.
Over the years the brand grew to include SUV’s and by the end of the decade Lexus had sold over one million vehicles in the US. Recently the Lexus brand has become a trendsetter by introducing hybrid powered versions of it vehicles. This brand is known for having a remarkably silent cabin and a refined engine. The Lexus marquee has distinguished itself over the years for being a high quality and reliable vehicle.
